The Armstrong-Walker Classic Foundation was established in 2009 as a non-profit organization with a mission to commemorate the Armstrong-Walker Classic Football Games and provide charitable support to the youth serving organizations.
The Foundation is comprised of Armstrong and Walker Alumni, business and civic leaders, elected officials and football and sports legends who came together to re-create and electrifying period in our history commemorating the memories and pride of one of Richmond’s biggest events, “The Classic Football Game.” The Foundation ‘s mission is to bring back that pride and excitement.
The Foundation’s mission to commemorate and recreate the 1938 to 1978 black historical and electrifying Classic to generate funds to support youth serving organizations and to further join together Armstrong and Walker alumnus, educators, business and civic leaders to bring education, pride, and unity back to our children and our community.
To further its mission, the Foundation will donate funds to tax-exempt non-profit organizations that foster mentoring, education and positive lifestyles for inner city youth.
As a tax exempt organization, the Armstrong-Walker Classic Foundation will provide charitable support to organizations and programs that foster healthy development of our children through educational and recreational activities.
